Rabbi Dr. Yoel Berman

I have the good fortune to work with many esteemed colleagues, including talmedei chachomim of note and wonderful mechanchim. That list includes Rabbi Dr. Yoel Berman. Dr. Berman has been teaching physics for decades and at Heichal he is also a beloved rebbe.

Dr. Berman is a wonderful storyteller, particularly when he relates his personal stories from his years in the IDF or stories about his father’s experiences fighting in the US army in Japan at the end of WWII. His ability to connect his experiences to life lessons is unique. I typed up a collection of those stories and lessons. At the end of the 2024 school year, Heichal published a pamphlet collection of those stories. I surprised Dr Berman by presenting it to him at the Heichal graduation.
